Data Networks

If the network serving your backstage and house areas was built out by IT professionals who specialize in corporate or enterprise networks, chances are they did wrong.

And you can’t really blame them. There is nothing about building corporate enterprise networks that is useful when it comes to serving the needs of your touring and event guests. Enterprise networks are all about security and control. Backstage networks are all about openness, flexibility and speed.

Backstage networks should never have a firewall in place. If your venue does, you can be sure it causes problems for at least some of the tours that use your venue.

If any of the Internet jacks in your backstage area not “hot” all the time or need to be manually patched on the day of a show, you are not meeting the needs of most tours in a timely fashion.

If your network cannot be be managed 100% remotely you cannot service your touring guests quickly enough.

Most production managers will tell you that when they have a 7:00am load-in if you have not won your network battle by 8:00am then you have already lost. No need to bother having the in-house IT guy to investigate when they roll in at 10:00am…

The professionals at TouringTech understand how to design backstage networks that will meet the needs of your touring guests quickly, easily and inexpensively. Quite simply, we are experts at it.
